Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is one of the automakers that continuously roll out efforts to advocate road safety in the country. The latest program was the guided experiential drive featuring the Honda Sensing with the company’s partner, AEISEC in the Philippines (AIESEC).
Another batch of students attended HCPI's road safety program
As compared to last year’s attendance of 22, the latest road safety program was attended by 24 student leaders from eight member schools of AISEC on March 11. As mentioned earlier, the program was run with the help of Honda Sensing, which is available on Honda models including the all-new BR-V, Civic, and HR-V.
“It is my pleasure to be with you who are very passionate about creating good change for society. This program is designed to strengthen our consciousness about how our own actions can help reduce road accidents, and how we can influence other road users to also improve their driving habits,” said HCPI President Masahiko Nakamura.
With a mission of reducing car accidents involving Honda cars down to zero by 2050, the Honda Sensing is the brand’s own Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). It provides active and passive driving assist functions on top of standard safety features such as airbags and an anti-lock brake system (ABS).

Locally, the Honda Sensing-equipped models can offer the following functions:
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Auto High-Beam
- Collision Mitigation Braking System
- Lane Keeping and Lane Departure Warning
- Lead Car Departure Warning
- Road Departure Mitigation
Honda Sensing comes standard on all variants of the HR-V and Civic, minus the Civic S as it was recently discontinued from the lineup. Meanwhile, only the top-of-the-line Honda BR-V VX benefits from the system.

Aside from the demonstration of Honda Sensing, HCPI also covered various road safety topics such as having the correct mindset when driving, pre-drive inspection, traffic rules and regulations, and common misconceptions about being on the road.
“AIESEC in the Philippines is sincerely honored to partner with Honda in this road safety program. We appreciate Honda’s efforts on sustainability and this initiative to help us become better road users,” said AIESEC President Sajana Vithanawasam.
The company has been conducting educational campaigns on road safety for the youth since 2004 through its program, Teen Smart.
