The car brand’s seven-seater MPV is off to a great start.

Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) is off to a great start this year as it managed to enter the top five best-selling car brands last January.

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) announced that Honda Cars Philippines sold 1,639 units in January 2023. This allowed HCPI to secure the fifth spot in the top-selling car brands in the country last month. In fact, Honda trails by only 239 units with Nissan Philippines, occupying the fourth spot.

HCPI’s January 2023 sales run was led by the all-new BR-V, a model that was just launched in November 2022. This shows that a significant number of Filipino car buyers were indeed waiting for Honda’s seven-seater MPV to be offered in the market.

The 2023 Honda BR-V is offered in four variants with a starting price of Php 1,090,000 for the S MT variant, which features a six-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, the top-spec BR-V VX with Honda Sensing retails at Php 1,390,000.

Completing the podium is the City Sedan, which fell behind the Brio by only 56 units sold. HCPI noted that there were 230 City Sedans that rolled off dealerships last January 2023. All Honda City Sedan variants are now offered with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) since the car brand dropped the manual transmission option last July 2022.
