Most changes on the update will be found on the front

Most of the changes on the upcoming Honda City can be found on its front fascia as shown in the leaked pictures. It has a new honeycomb grille design, and it gets more intricate but sportier front foglamp trims. The chrome bar linking together its headlamps appears to be slimmer as well.

The LED headlamps also get a restyled look. Specifically, it looks more complex than the pair on the currently available model as it features numerous fin-like shapes.

Meanwhile, the leaked images show virtually no changes when it comes to the Honda City’s side profile. One version even shows the exact same wheelset as the Philippine-spec Honda City RS.

The rear of the reportedly upcoming City for the Indian market is likewise getting a revised bumper. Compared to the current model, it now has a prominent rear diffuser equipped with a pair of reflectors.

As far as the leaked interior pictures go, not much has changed. The steering wheel does get a small, new volume knob though. The wood trim that has always been present on the India-spec City was carried over as well.

The Honda City for the Indian market has three engine options. There’s a 1.5-liter diesel engine option besides the 1.5-liter gasoline variant, and the e:HEV (hybrid). According to sources, the diesel-powered City will be dropped from the refreshed model in order to comply with Indian laws.

Note that the Honda City e:HEV or hybrid version was introduced to the Indian market last year. And just like the diesel version, the hybrid Honda City is not available in the Philippine market.

Will the Philippine market likewise see the launch of an updated Honda City in the near future? Well, only time will tell. It is, after all, a mainstay model within Honda Cars Philippines’ lineup.
