UPDATE: AC Motors released an official statement regarding Honda Cars Global City's closure.

Effective on July 1, 2021, the Ayala-owned Honda Cars Global City dealership located at 9th Avenue, City Center, Bonifacio Global City will be ceasing its operations and shutting down. The aforementioned announcement was posted on the said dealership’s official Facebook page on July 28, 2021.

If you're a longtime customer, or have been planning to pay the said dealership a visit, you can instead book an appointment with the other Honda Dealerships owned by the said company. These include Honda Cars Manila Bay, Honda Cars Shaw, Honda Cars Alabang, Honda Cars Pasig, and Honda Cars Makati. Refer to the picture below for these dealership’s email addresses and contact numbers.

The announcement of Honda Car Global City’s closure comes after Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) quietly drops the Mobilio MPV from its model lineup. And yes, one can confirm this by visiting the Honda Philippine’s official website. On the said site, one can see that the said model is no longer listed.

According to HCPI, it is now focusing on other growing car segments. In other words, cars that are more suited to the current market demand. In this case, dropping the seven-seater Mobilio model might allow the company to better cater to the needs of its customers.

Then again, HCPI also says that there are still available Mobilio units, and these will continue to be available until supplies last. However, do note that the company has yet to mention anything about a replacement.

To this end, HCPI has explained its decision to streamline its model lineup. Regarding the Honda Cars Global City dealership however, Ayala’s sub-company AC Motors, the company operating the said Honda dealership, has yet to disclose a reason for the closure. For that, we’ll have to wait for more updates from either Ayala or AC Motors.
