GAC Motor Philippines to launch six new models in 2024

The car brand has already previewed the M8 and the M6 Pro during its year-end wrap-up celebrations held at the Peninsula Manila Hotel. The M8 luxury minivan and the M6 Pro are two of the planned six new models by GAC Motor PH in 2024. GAC Motor PH plans to launch the two models early next year.

We first saw the M8 when GAC flew us to China last September. It was during that time when GAC Motor PH sort of hinted that it would be bringing in the M8 luxury minivan as its challenger to the likes of the Toyota Alphard.

GAC M8

The Chinese car brand shared that the PH-spec GAC M8 will come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 248 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

It will be offered in two variants with the entry-level GL trim having an indicative price ranging from Php 3,000,000 to Php Php 3,100,000 while the top-spec GX Master has a price ranging from Php 4,000,000 to Php 4,100,000.

Meanwhile, the M6 Pro is GAC Motor PH’s challenger in the MPV segment. It’s also no wonder that GAC Motor PH is positioning the seven-seater M6 Pro to rival the Toyota Innova. The M6 Pro is a refreshed and updated model of the GAC GN6.

GAC M6 Pro

The upcoming PH-spec M6 Pro will come with a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine that delivers 174 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque, which is the same power unit found on the GS3 Emzoon and Empow. The engine is connected to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission.

GAC Motor PH shared that the M6 Pro will be offered in two variants: entry-level GS trim and top-spec GL. The GS trim has an indicative pricing of Php 1.2 million to Php 1.3 million. The GL variant, on the other hand, has Php 1.5 million to Php 1.6 million indicative pricing.

So, what about the four other upcoming GAC models in the Philippines? Well, the car brand has yet to announce what will the four other vehicles that it will be launching in the Philippines by next year.

GAC Empow R

From what we saw in China, GAC Motor has an extensive list of cars including the Empow R, which is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is capable of making 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Aion Hyper GT

GAC Motor PH also has the Empow hybrid, plug-in hybrids such as the E9 as well as the Aion line of vehicles. Aion is GAC Motor’s electric vehicle division or brand that features an extensive model lineup consisting of full-electric vehicles including the Hyper GT.

Aside from introducing new cars, GAC Motor PH also wants to further expand its dealership network to 35 locations by 2024. In a recently concluded Year-End Business Review and 2024 Kick-Off convention for dealer partners, seven new partners signed on as new dealer partners with GAC Motor PH.
