The rainy season poses various road challenges such as reduced visibility and slippery conditions. Ford Philippines understands the challenge and thus equipped its next-gen model with features to combat the rainy season.
The next-gen Ford Ranger
Despite the safety innovations, Ford Philippines still wants drivers to do their part in keeping roads safe. As such, the company shared four tips to drive safely during the rainy season.
The first tip is to check the condition of your wipers before heading out for a drive. It can minimize the reduced visibility during rain, given the condition of the wipers is good. For a more convenient drive, select variants of the next-gen Ford Ranger and Everest come with rain-sensing wipers.
360-degree camera
Next on the list is to always maintain visibility. One of the ways to do so is by turning on your headlights, allowing other road users to see your vehicle. What you shouldn’t do is activate the hazard lights as it can confuse other drivers whether you are moving or stationary.
In addition, a 360-degree camera is made available in the flagship variants of the Ranger and Everest, as well as in the next-gen Ranger Raptor. It can improve visibility by providing drivers with a clearer view of the vehicle's surroundings.
Slippery Drive Mode
Flooding of roads is common in the country, especially during the rainy season. So for the third tip, Ford Philippines is advising motorists to know their vehicle’s water-wading capability. Both the Ranger and Everest offer an 800 mm water-wading capability. Meanwhile, the Ranger Raptor boasts more with 850 mm.
The last tip is to drive slower as wet road conditions increase the chances of hydroplaning. Ford came prepared by installing the “Slippery” drive mode on select variants of the Ranger and Everest. It is said to optimize the engine and transmission to reduce wheel spin.
The next-gen Ford cars are more than ready for the rainy season
You can get all these rain-ready features in the Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 and Everest Titanium+ 4x4 for Php 1,910,000 and Php 2,525,000, respectively. The next-gen Ranger Raptor, meanwhile, can be yours for Php 2,339,000.
