Jeep announced that it will introduce its first all-electric SUV as part of its global initiatives to electrify its SUV lineup. To give a glimpse of the new all-electric SUV, the American automaker posted exterior photos of the model, displaying a youthful-looking two-tone finish.
Jeep's first all-electric SUV
The introduction of the brand’s first-all electric SUV is merely an announcement. No specifications have been hinted at just yet. Even the name of the model hasn’t been disclosed by the company. It is still unclear whether the SUV will be a new model in its SUV portfolio or will be a different version of an existing Jeep vehicle.
If it is the latter, then one can expect that the Jeep Compass will embody the brand’s all-electric SUV. From the signature seven-slotted grille and headlights, we can tell that it is familiar with the brand’s compact crossover. There should be more distinct details to separate it from the non-electric variants.
This announcement was made during the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan presentation of Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep. Under the said plan, the company’s car brands will be releasing a handful of all-electric vehicles including Jeep’s ‘Pure off-road UVs’ and ‘Lifestyle Family SUVs’ starting from 2024.
It resembles the Jeep Compass
One of the Jeep vehicles that is expected to be included in the Dare Forward 2030 is the new Wrangler EV. It will expand the model’s versatility as a plug-in hybrid is already offered in the market. All these are being undertaken so the brand’s vision of Zero Emission Freedom will be closer than ever.
The new all-electric Jeep SUV will be spearheading that zero-emission vision as it is slated to debut in early 2023. Stay tuned as Jeep said that it will roll out more information on its unnamed all-electric SUV in the coming months.
