Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) GT Cup Asia Finals 2023 has concluded with Team Philippines’ Luis Moreno managing to clutch the second-place win in the event’s individual championship category. This means that a Filipino will be one of the e-racers to represent Asia at the upcoming TGR GT Cup Global finals.

Played within the confines of PlayStation’s Grand Turismo 7, the GR GT Cup is one of the world’s largest E-motorsports events. At the e-racing series’ Asia edition, racers battled it out in three main race events within the faithfully recreated digital versions of real-world race tracks using Toyota Gazoo Racing cars.
Two other Philippine representatives entered the GT Cup Asia Finals 2023 together with Moreno. These are Russel Reyes and Matthew Ang.
The first main race for GR GT Cup Asia went to Mount Panorama with the GT Supra Gr.4 cars. This was then followed by a race on the Tokyo Expressway using the GR Corolla, while the final race was played on Spa Francorchamps using the Le Mans-spec GR010 Hybrid Hypercars. The players also went through time attack events which functioned as qualifying rounds for the main e-racing events.
Coming on top of the GR GT Cup Asia in first place was Indonesia’s Andika Rama. Third place meanwhile, went to another Indonesian racer, Fadtris Isa. Rama will join Moreno to represent at the e-motorsports event’s global leg.

Of note, the e-racing competition’s results are based on a point system similar to real-world motorsports events where points are awarded based on a racer’s finishing position. For their total scores, Rama managed to get 65 points, while Moreno followed with 52 points. Isa meanwhile, finished with 49 points.
If you want to witness the e-racing action from the GT Cup Asia Finals, you can view the recorded video on Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines’ official Facebook page. The TGR GT Cup Global Finals, meanwhile, is scheduled this coming November in Barcelona, Spain.
