In attendance during the event were several Chery Philippines and Chery Global executives, representatives from automotive media outlets, as well as guests from United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI).
In a nutshell, the QPower brand is the culmination of Chery’s years and years of new energy research. Primarily, it represents the “Chery 4.0” era where the brand’s internal combustion (ICE), plug-in hybrids (PHEV), and battery electric vehicles (BEV) will all gain performance and efficiency improvements.
According to Chery, the QPower architecture will feature engines and transmissions that can return high levels of performance while maintaining efficiency and having low emissions. For instance, the new architecture has managed to raise the Chery PHEV model’s thermal efficiency to 44.5 percent. This means that less energy is wasted and turned into heat.
Beyond that, the QPower brand is also concerned with making Chery’s production processes cleaner and greener. This is done by continuously exploring sustainable development technologies and carbon reduction plans for the brand’s entire industry chain.
Chery eQ7 EV
Thanks to the new architecture, Chery can keep up with the global hybrid and electric car trend which has been seeing exponential growth in recent years. To put this into perspective, the Chinese car brand says global new energy vehicle sales are projected to reach around 20 million units by 2024, with a market share of 24.2 percent.
Last but not least, the brand also highlighted the design of the Chery eQ7 EV. Dubbed the “Digital Superbody,” its design language is said to incorporate a high-tech but naturally aesthetic appeal. For example, its body follows the golden ratio (0.618) which is commonly seen in nature whilst sitting on aerodynamic, low-resistance wheels.
Inside, the eQ7 gets a plush interior that’s also filled with tech. The centerpiece of this EV’s cockpit is a sizeable 24.6-inch dual-screen display. Likewise present inside the vehicle is a two-tone design motif.
For now, no other mechanical specs of the upcoming EV were provided, so stay tuned for that here on Philkotse.
