Chery Auto Philippines will preview two electric vehicle models (EV) and one plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) at the 2023 Electric Vehicle Summit (EVS). The event is slated to commence from October 19 to 21, 2023 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
The brand is previewing two new EVs and one new PHEV model at the upcoming EV summit
These three Chery vehicles were initially previewed a few weeks ago, but as of the moment, the brand has yet to reveal what exactly these models are. However, a new teaser picture showing the outlines of the vehicles was provided by Chery Auto PH. So based on this, we can make calculated guesses
It was speculated before that one of these might be the Chery eQ1 city car and the new 2023 EVS teaser poster is indeed showing something that may rival the Jetour Ice Cream. In global markets, this very compact two-door hatch can make 41 horsepower and has a range of up to 301 kilometers.
Chery eQ1
The other EV model meanwhile, might be the sharply-styled Chery eQ7 which was released globally earlier this year as one of the brand’s latest “new energy” models. The global-spec version can churn out 211 horsepower and offer 512 km of range in its most potent form.
There is likewise a good chance that the third model shown in the teaser image is the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV. In other markets, this crossover’s top-spec version uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline mill paired with two electric motors. In total, this PHEV is capable of outputting an impressive 326 horsepower and 545 Nm of torque. That goes on top of its all-electric range of 80 km.

Other Chery models that will be appearing at the 2023 EVS are the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid and the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ PHEV. These are currently available to the local market with a starting price of Php 1,350,000 and Php 2,698,000 respectively. The two are likewise available to the public for test drives during the event.
Do take what was mentioned here with a grain of salt as they are mere speculations for now. As such, let’s wait for the 2023 EVS to kick off to see once and for all these new Chery models in the metal.
