Zeeker, which is a sub-brand of the Geely Holding Group, primarily produces electric vehicles (EV). But beyond that, it also seeks to promote its vision of a “cleaner and greener future.” Autohub shares this goal with Zeeker, as such, the two entities signed a dealership agreement which will be pushed forward with the introduction of three new EVs in the near future.
These are the Zeekr 001, Zeekr X, and the Zeekr 009. The Zeekr 001 and X will be brought to the Philippines with two variants each. They will get a Standard and Flagship version. No exact dates were provided, but Autohub shared that these two will be launched “very soon.” The Zeekr 009 meanwhile, is scheduled to be launched in the Philippines in the third quarter of 2024 (July, August, and September).
Of note, the Zeekr 001 is the Chinese company’s first-ever production EV. It is already sold in Europe and China, and it is classed as an executive car that assumes a shooting brake design.
In the markets where it is sold, its top-of-the-line standard version can output up to 536 horsepower from its two motors. It also provides a claimed range of 700 km.
Zeekr 001 FR
As confirmed by Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten, Zeekr Philippines will be making the top-spec 001 FR available for indent order. Of note, this is a high-performance version that has a claimed output of 1,248 hp.
While the 001 is positioned on the sportier side of automobiles, the Zeekr 009 is a larger, family-friendly MPV. That said though, the most powerful version sold in China uses a potent dual-motor powertrain that can deliver 536 hp and 686 Nm of torque. It also boasts a China light-duty vehicle test cycle (CLTC) range of 822 km.
The third EV Autohub is bringing in is the Zeekr X - a subcompact crossover EV that shares a platform with the Volvo EX30. In the markets where it is already available, the most powerful Zeekr X version can dish out 428 hp, and a has a CLTC range of 400 km.
For now, no exact specs for the upcoming Philippine-spec versions of these EVs were revealed, but they will no doubt serve to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in the country.
