Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) is among the many car brands that have been affected by the global parts shortage, which resulted in a long customer waiting list as well as late unit deliveries.
The all-new Honda HR-V has generated a lot of interest in the Philippine market to the point where HCPI can’t supply the demand for the said five-seater crossover. HCPI released an official statement last September 2022 asking its clients for “more understanding” regarding the delayed arrival of the all-new HR-V.
HCPI also apologized for the late deliveries, and stated that the arrival schedule for the five-seater crossover vehicle “remains uncertain.”
The delay is due to the parts shortage which has affected vehicle production worldwide. Among the factors for the delay is the limited availability of the semiconductor chip, which is responsible for several major vehicle functions.

HCPI said that it is doing all it can to supply the demand for the all-new HR-V but the unit allocation is unpredictable, which depends on the overall vehicle production. However, individuals who are patiently waiting for their all-new HR-V could soon see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Honda Cars Philippines shared with Philkotse that the supply for the all-new HR-V will start to normalize by February 2023. HCPI is expecting to have an ample supply of the all-new Honda HR-V by next year, which is eyed to address the HR-V’s market demand in the Philippines.
The all-new Honda HR-V was launched in the Philippines last April 2022. It was initially offered in two variants: S non-turbo, and V turbo. Both variants come with a Honda Sensing driver as a standard kit. Then months after, HCPI introduced the third variant option for the all-new HR-V, the RS Turbo. The said variant debuted at the Philippine International Motor Show.
The Honda HR-V S is powered by a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Of note, the all-new HR-V S is said to have a fuel economy rating of almost 30 km/l.
The HR-V V and RS Turbo, on the other hand, are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 174 hp and 240 Nm of torque. It also has a CVT.
