Mitsubishi Philippines has recently released a teaser for an upcoming product. It appears to be the updated version of the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, and the launch will be happening on January 26, 2023.

The only clue pointing towards the updated 2023 Xpander Cross that was made available was a picture showing the front of the vehicle. Like most teasers though, it is shrouded in shadow. No details were also given regarding any specs, prices, etc.
Do remember however, that the new Mitsubishi Xpander Cross already debuted last year. It was shown off at the 2022 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. If we had to guess, our upcoming local version might share the same specs as this Indonesian version.
Some details that stand out on the Indonesian Xpander Cross include a longer overall length of 4,595mm, which is 95mm longer than its predecessor. It is also 10mm narrower than the older model, due to having a set of sleeker overfender claddings.

Also present are revamped bumper extension and faux skid plate. The T-shaped LED headlamps however, were retained.
Not many interior changes are found in the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross though. It can still seat up to seven, and the dashboard looks the same. What’s new though is a redesigned center armrest.
The driver also gets an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, and a new four-spoke steering wheel. Its headunit then comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and USB connectivity. A wireless charging function was also added.

One can also expect the same number of standard safety features. Then again, the 2023 model gets additional features. This includes a 360-degree camera, as well as the Active Yaw Control system for added stability when taking on corners.
The Indonesian Xpander Cross also uses the same 1.5-liter engine as the older model. As such, there’s a high possibility that the upcoming PH-spec Xpander Cross will be equipped with the said engine that delivers 103 hp and 141 Nm of torque.
Do remember however, that the Indonesian version uses a continuously variable transmission (CVT). We still aren’t sure if the upcoming 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross for the Philippine market will follow that or use the 4-speed torque converter which our version of the regular Xpander still uses.
