Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is looking to shake up the midsize pickup truck segment with the upcoming launch of the updated 2023 D-Max.
The Japanese car brand announced that the new D-Max pickup truck would make its official Philippine debut on April 21, 2023. Isuzu Philippines will use its Summer Music Festival event at the Alabang Town Center to showcase the 2023 D-Max.
The said event will be from April 21 to 23, and IPC confirmed that the new Isuzu D-Max would be unveiled during the event. The Isuzu Summer Music Festival will start on April 21 at 5:45 p.m. with the reveal of the new D-Max. OPM artists Yeng Constantino and Sam Concepcion will provide entertainment as the updated D-Max makes its official local debut.
IPC has yet to share details on what we can expect from the upcoming new PH-spec D-Max. But with a quick look at our neighboring ASEAN country, Thailand, we could get a glimpse of what IPC will offer regarding its new pickup truck.
Revealed last October 2022, the Thai-spec Isuzu D-Max gets minor yet distinctive cosmetic changes. The D-Max in Thailand comes with a revised front grille that now comes with a two-tone design in black chime and gray.
Another significant design update can be seen on the TH-spec D-Max’s wheels. It can either come with a 17- or 18-inch alloy wheelset, depending on the variant. The 17-inch set features an “Aeroscrew” design while the 18-inch wheels come with more tough-looking Robust Radius wheels. Looking at it, the D-Max’s new wheels are more stylish than the outgoing model.
The interior has also been given an update. Chief among these is the new Cool Max seats, which are said to be designed to absorb less heat. Isuzu added that the front seats are integrated with a new foam design that can able to better absorb vibrations.
IPC could offer a new interior color scheme as suggested when you glance at the TH-spec Isuzu D-Max. The Thai market can have two-tone seats or a plain black finish, depending on the D-Max variant.
Meanwhile, the TH-spec 2023 Isuzu D-Max still gets a seven-inch or a nine-inch infotainment touchscreen, depending on the variant. But, the said infotainment now comes with wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Another significant update to the 2023 D-Max in Thailand is the addition of a 3D Imaging Stereo Camera. It assists the D-Max’s adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking system, as well as a forward collision warning system.
The 2023 Isuzu D-Max in Thailand still uses the same 3.0-liter diesel engine that delivers 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The engine can be connected to either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Of note, the TH-spec D-Max comes with an electronic diff-lock system.
The 2023 Isuzu D-Max will be making its Philippine debut on April 21 at IPC’s Summer Music Festival at the Alabang Town Center. Aside from the new D-Max, IPC will also be showcasing the updated mu-X seven-seater SUV at the said event.
IPC added that an exclusive event discount will be offered for the new D-Max and mu-X to those who will inquire during the 3-day Isuzu Summer Music Festival and will close their transaction by May 31, 2023.
On the other hand, existing Isuzu owners who will visit the show can also get exclusive Parts and Labor PMS coupons that can be used at any Isuzu dealership nationwide.
