After a while of waiting, speculations, and spy pictures leaking out on the internet, Ford has finally scheduled the official launch of the seventh-generation Mustang.
The all-new Mustang's launch is imminent
The said event will go by the fitting name of “The Stampede” and it will take place at the Detroit Auto Show, on September 14, 2022 at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. That's September 15, 2022 8 a.m. Thursday here in the Philippines.
If you can't make it to Detroit, one can also view the said event on Ford’s several social media channels. Specifically, the event will be streamed on Ford Youtube, and the Ford Facebook page.
Besides The Stampede event, Ford USA is also holding a cross-country adventure featuring all six generations of Ford’s pony car.
This event is dubbed “The Drive Home”, and it is essentially a road trip that will then start at America’s Car Museum on September 6, 2022. The caravan will then cross the continent to join The Stampede Ford Mustang launch event at the Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan.
The 2023 Ford Mustang that’s joining The Drive Home journey though, is still a wrapped-up test unit. We do know from spy pics and leaks though that the upcoming Mustang might sport a sharper, squarer front fascia with straighter-looking lines. It might also come with larger vents, and a larger hood scoop.
The 2023 Mustang together with previous generation models
For now, we know nothing about its on-board features, how its interior looks, and its safety kit. We are quite sure however, that a V8 variant, as well as a six-speed manual version will be coming. A ten-speed automatic variant will also be made available. If you remember, this was confirmed by Ford CEO Jim Farley himself via a tweet several weeks ago.
As of the announcement of The Stampede event though, Farley further said that a next-generation Mustang EcoBoost convertible version will be coming as well.
