It is looking promising.

Now that the next-gen Ford Ranger has been officially unveiled, many turned their heads to the all-new Ford Everest. Both vehicles share the same Ford T6 platform so the new Everest is expected to come with a similar design and features as its pickup truck counterpart.

2022 Ford Everest Render [YouTube: SRK Designs]

The Blue Oval company has been mum about what the upcoming midsize SUV will bring to the table. It was recently spotted during a vehicle testing alongside the Ranger and Ranger Raptor in a camouflage, leaving us with nothing but to become even more curious.

Fortunately, YouTuber SRK Designs gave us something to ponder as it posted a render of the 2022 Ford Everest. The front end in the rendered image is taken from the next-gen Ford Ranger’s with few modifications to make it more like an actual Everest.

This could be close to the final look

At the front, the rendered Everest sports an F-150-like appearance thanks to its massive grille and the brand’s signature C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs). But unlike the next-gen Ranger, SRK Designs went for chrome finishes, creating a premium family vehicle appeal as opposed to the rugged look blacked-out trims give.

The pickup bed was removed in favor of the third-row seats with d-pillars and more windows. Since the vehicle now has an extended top surface, the designer touched on the roof rails which can be used to haul more cargo.

Next-gen Ford Ranger

As said earlier, Ford hasn’t provided the specifications of the new Everest. But if we’ll follow the specs of the next-gen Ranger, then the upcoming midsize SUV could be offered with a larger 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 and a 2.0-liter diesel engine that gets either a single or twin turbos.

One can expect that it shouldn’t take long before the 2022 Ford Everest will make its debut considering that the next-gen Ranger has already been revealed. Once the Everest is unveiled in the metal, we would appreciate seeing the distinctive Ford front end similar to the render.
