The Lotus Evora is a two-door, mid-engine coupe series fitted with a record-breaking engine. Currently, it is the British company’s flagship sports car merging superb handling with their consistent and reliable innovations. In the Philippines, the Lotus Evora is offered in three breathtaking variants: the Lotus Evora GT 410, the Lotus Evora GT 410 SPORT, and the Lotus Evora GT4. It is available in more than premium 20 colors with metallic and pearl tones.
Launch
Initially, the Lotus Evora was unveiled at the British International Motor Show in July 2008. The sports car was based on a new platform. “Evora” was derived from the legendary automobile company’s tradition of naming their releases with the letter E. Two years after, a revamped and more powerful version was released in 2015 at the Geneva International Motor Show. It was then followed by another high-performing variant the Lotus Evora GT430 in 2017.
In the Philippines, the Lotus Evora together with its siblings were formally unveiled at the grand launch of their first dealership in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila in 2015.
When compared to other GT cars, the Evora is small. It is however, very agile
Exterior
The Lotus Evora measures 4,394mm long, 1,972mm wide, and 1,223mm tall. From the front up to the rear, it is detailed with dramatic curves that efficiently help in slicing air while it shows its superb power. Highlights include a sleek pair of xenon headlights, a wide center grille, encased daytime running lights, front and side air vents, a chin and duckbill spoiler, and a central exhaust in between vents at the bumper.
Supporting the Lotus Evora is a pair of 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch 10 spoke alloy wheels at the rear.
Interior
Aluminum, leather, and Alcantar trimmings dominate the cabin of the Lotus Evora. Notable features include the Recaro leather sports seats, a flat-bottomed magnesium steering wheel also wrapped in premium leather, door storage bins, cup holders, clear gauges, the highly-efficient Lotus command center with vehicle monitoring display and an auxiliary trip computer, easy to reach controls, and air conditioning system.
Technology & Safety Features
Providing infotainment inside the Lotus Evora is a seven-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity.
In terms of safety, it is equipped with a generous number of airbags, rear parking aid, an anti-lock braking system, tire pressure monitoring, stability control, traction control, brake assist, and more.
Platform & Chassis
The Lotus Evora is built using a bonded and extruded lightweight aluminum chassis. Its braking power is provided by a servo-assisted two-piece ventilated and cross-drilled brake discs matched with four-piston AP Racing calipers.
Engine & Drivetrain
The Lotus Evora series runs using an all-aluminum V6 supercharged, water-cooled engine. It is paired with either a sports ratio six-speed manual or automatic transmission capable of emitting 410 horsepower with 410 Newton meters. At its best, it can run at a top speed of 298 kilometers per hour.
