The Kia Stonic is a five-seater, subcompact crossover. In the Philippines market, it has four available variants: the Stonic LX 1.4 MT, the LX 1.4 AT, Style Edition 1.4 AT, and the EX 1.4 AT. Currently, Kia Stonic 2023 Philippines price ranging from Php 835,000 to Php 990,000.
Under the hood of all the Stonic trims is a 1.4-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that can make up to 97 horsepower and 132 Nm of torque. It then uses a six-speed automatic torque converter. Only the entry-level LX trim may come with a five-speed manual transmission. The one with the manual has a different engine tune of 94 horsepower.
Size-wise, the Stonic is 4,100mm long, 1,735mm wide, and 1,533mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,570mm, and a ground clearance of 185mm.
Locally, the Stonic competes against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, MG ZS, Chery Tiggo 2, Ford EcoSport, Geely Coolray, Hyundai Kona, among others.
Launch
The Kia Stonic 2023 was first unveiled at the International Motor Show in Germany on June 20, 2017. On July 13, 2017, it debuted in South Korea. Upon its release, it was offered in four engine choices. Its trendy name is a combination of “speed” and “tonic”, a rightful description of this vehicle’s proven capability.
The Stonic received recognition from different award-giving organizations. It won the “Transportation Design” category at the iF Product Design Award and the “Car Design” category by the Red Dot Design Award in 2018.
Kia Philippines is looking to make an iconic statement as it introduced the Stonic subcompact crossover. With the catchphrase “Style That is Iconic,” the Stonic was designed to meet the needs of active people in need of a stylish but practical city going daily driver.
This subcompact crossover is designed by Peter Schreyer, the designer of the Audi TT. The Stonic was launched by Kia Philippines in October 2020. It sports the familiar Tiger Nose Grille, which is then combined with sporty design cues provided by the aggressive looking skid-plate, and the angular lines spread around the front fascia.
In 2021, Kia Philippines then added the Kia Style Edition which features added colored pieces for the front bumper and side skirt, as well as a set of black-colored wheels.

On its front, The Kia Stonic is refreshingly designed with the company’s signature grille paired with dual function headlamps. Located below is a wide air intake that efficiently cools its engine.
The Kia Stonic dimensions measure 4,100 mm long, 1,735 mm wide, and 1,533 mm high. It has the right size to project its youthful looks and to provide a decent amount of road presence. The new Kia subcompact crossover also has 185 mm of ground clearance, which we reckon will be great for dealing with speed-bumps and less than stellar city roads.

The top variant keeps its five occupants comfortable with a single-zone automatic air-conditioner. For cargo, the Stonic can hold a minimum of 325-liters with the rear seats deployed.

This trendy SUV is fitted with an infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for entertainment. Standard safety features on the Kia Stonic include dual-front airbags, anti-lock braking, ISOFIX, and child locks. The top-of-the-line variant also comes with hill-start assist, an engine immobilizer, and stability control.
