The Philippines GAC GA8 is a full-size executive sedan built with impressive features that makes driving a pleasurable experience. It was available in the Philippines in two variants with a price that ranged from Php 1,988,000 to Php 2,288,000. Powering this vehicle is a 2.0-liter inline-4 gasoline engine good for 194 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. As standard, the engine sends power to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Dimensions-wise, the GA8 spans 5,003 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, and 1,508 mm high, with a wheelbase rated at 2,907 mm. Locally, this Chinese full-size sedan went up against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Mazda6.
Launch
The GAC GA8, also known as the Trumpchi GA8, had an initial concept introduction at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show. In June 2016, the production model was unveiled. Soon after, it was offered in different parts of the world.
In November 2018, GAC Motor together with its impressive lineup that includes the GA GAC8 was introduced in the Philippines. But now, the model has been discontinued from the range, leaving the GAC GA4 as the sole sedan in the local lineup.

The GAC GA8 2023 measures 5,003mm long, 1,910mm wide, and 1,508mm tall. Its overall style is reminiscent of subdued but stunningly gorgeous European-styled sedans that effortlessly exude elegance. Displayed upfront is the Chinese company’s signature “flying dynamics” grille with chrome highlights. It is matched with a pair of striking LED headlights and fog lamps cased in the black intake.
Its long body is detailed with the right balance of lines and curves that adds to its premium appeal. Its rear features a contemporary pair of LED tail lights and nicely-shaped bumpers.
Supporting the vehicle is a set of sturdy 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels designed to complement the sedan’s classy look.
GAC GA8 Interior
The GA8 Philippines is built with a spacious and sophisticated cabin that can comfortably accommodate five fully grown adults. Highlights include the detailed Nappa full-grain leather with faux wood trimmings generously designed throughout the cabin, advanced dashboard complete with all driving-related necessities, a steering wheel with controls, three-zone automatic climate control with air purification system, and retractable sunshades for added comfort.
In terms of its cargo capacity, the GAC GA8 is built with a compartment that can carry 500 liters. Accessing your cargo is easy as it is built with a small opening at the rear stowage.

The GAC GA8 comes with a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen that also offers a 360-degree view of the vehicle while backing up to park. Other innovations include start-stop engine, auto-dim rearview mirror, remote tailgate switch, tire pressure monitoring, and more.
In terms of safety, this posh sedan is built with six airbags, integrated ISOFIX anchors for child seats, an anti-theft system, impact-sensing door unlock, front and rear bumper sensors, active park assist, remote engine start, and more.

Engine & Drivetrain
The 2023 GA8 2.0 GE AT and the GAC GA8 GL AT share the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder V16 engine. They are mated with a six-speed automatic transmission capable of emitting 194 horsepower with 300 Newton meters of torque.
