Launch
The first-generation Nissan Murano was unveiled at the New York International Show in 2002. The marketed variant was powered by a 245 horsepower 3.5-liter engine mated with a continuously variable transmission.
In 2004, the Nissan Murano was introduced in Japan and other parts of Asia as a replacement for the Nissan Bassara. In 2006, a refreshed model was released fitted with more technological updates and a restyled exterior, and interior.
The second-generation Nissan Murano was revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2007 and three trim levels were made available: the top variant LE, the mid-model SL, and the base option S.
In the Philippines, the Nissan Murano was initially released in 2005. A revamped version of the SUV was made available in 2010. The Nissan Murano is currently marketed as the X-Trail.

The Nissan Murano measures 4,788mm long, 1,882mm wide, and 1,702mm tall. It flaunts a stylish and sleek exterior that exudes a dynamic road presence. Highlights include a wide eight-slotted chrome grille, a pair of high-intensity discharge xenon headlights, fog lights, black or silver-colored roof rails depending on the variant, dual power moonroof, heated outside mirrors, a power liftgate, rear privacy glass, and chrome-colored tailpipe finisher. To complement its mighty stance, the Nissan Murano wears a set of 18- to 20-inch multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.

The Nissan Murano offers a spacious aluminum and wood-trimmed cabin that can accommodate five fully grown passengers. Notable interior features include a six to eight-way adjustable seat with lumbar support, four-way adjustable passenger seats, 60/40 folding rear seats with levers, leather-wrapped steering wheel, interior mood lighting, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and three 12V power outlets.
