Another Toyota model is set to join the local Gazoo Racing (GR) Sport lineup as the Rush will reportedly soon get the GR-S treatment.

According to Autoindustriya.com, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) could launch the Rush GR-S in the local market, which is said to replace the 1.5 G as the new top-of-the-line version. It will offer a sportier finish for both the interior and exterior similar to other GR-S models in the country.
No official details have been disclosed by the company just yet. However, the upcoming sportier 7-seater vehicle should be identical to the Indo-spec Rush GR-S as local units are sourced from Indonesia. With that being said, let’s take a look at what we can expect to see once it arrives on our shores.
GR Sport-themed cabin
Exterior-wise, the Toyota Rush GR-S has a more aggressive-looking front bumper spoiler, a new rear bumper spoiler, GR side body molding, and GR Sport exclusive 17-inch machining alloy wheels. It also comes with new auto-retractable side mirrors which improve functionality.
Inside, an updated infotainment system is housed on the center console, offering Smartphone Remote App, Miracast, and iPod/iPhone connectivity, among others. GR badges are inserted in the cabin which can be found on the headrests, push start button, and steering wheel.
The Rush just got more aggressive-looking than ever
No changes are made under the hood as the vehicle is still powered by a 1.5-liter 2NR-VE gasoline engine capable of generating 103 horsepower and 136 Nm of torque. In the Indonesian market, the GR Sport version of the Rush is available in either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
The Toyota Rush GR Sport will follow the introduction of the GR Sport version of the Corolla Altis earlier this month. It will be joining other Toyota models in the local lineup with the GR Sport treatment including the Vios, Raize, Corolla Altis, Corolla Sport, Hilux, and Fortuner.
