All four variants will come with a CVT, and pricing starts at P975,000.

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) announced that it will be launching the refreshed City on July 13, 2023. The Japanese car brand has also opened the reservation books for the said subcompact sedan, which can be done through HCPI’s official website or authorized dealerships nationwide.

The new Honda City is on the way

It is available in four variants with the entry-level trim priced at Php 975,000 while the top-spec City RS gets a Php 1,130,000 sticker price. Of note, the said pricing is currently marked as “image price” which means that HCPI could adjust it accordingly.

As an exclusive introductory offer, HCPI has a Special Drive Deal for a limited time. From July 1 to 12, 2023, customers are eligible for a Waived Reservation Fee worth PHP 5,000 for units purchased and released on or before August 31, 2023.

Honda Philippines also revealed that all 2024 City variants would be equipped with Honda Sensing advanced driver-assist technology. The said tech includes the following safety features: collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist system, road departure mitigation system, lane departure warning, auto high beam, and lead car departure notification system.

Refreshed Honda City that debuted in India last March 2023

The inclusion of Honda Sensing in all 2024 City variants arguably makes it the most well-equipped vehicle (in terms of safety features) in the subcompact sedan segment, which includes rivals such as the Nissan Almera, Toyota Vios, and Mitsubishi Mirage G4, among others.

Honda Philippines has yet to share what the new Honda City will look like. But, a quick glance at the refreshed City that was launched in India can give us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming PH-spec model.

As a refreshed model, don’t expect a drastic design change on the Honda City. Based on the India-spec model, Honda’s subcompact sedan gets a cosmetic tweak that can be seen on the front and rear bumpers. The front grille has also been redesigned, giving the City a fresh look. Expect to see a revamped look on the City’s alloy wheels with the top-spec RS trim having a distinct look, which has been the trend.

Inside, the PH-spec 2024 Honda City could most likely get the same interior layout. But, HCPI has confirmed that will come with a new digital instrument cluster as well as an updated eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As a side note, the base E CVT variant doesn’t come with a touchscreen infotainment system.

All upcoming PH-spec variants will come with CVT

The same power unit can be found under the hood, which is a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine that delivers 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. All 2024 Honda City variants will have a continuously variable transmission (CVT); no manual transmission will be offered as of this writing.

Here are the variants and pricing of the 2024 Honda City (all variants come with Honda Sensing):

- E CVT: Php 975,000

- S CVT: Php 999,000

- V CVT: Php 1,075,000

- RS CVT: Php 1,130,000
