Maruti Suzuki didn’t provide a complete rundown of the changes on the refreshed version of the Ertiga. However, the company did tease a few exterior details of the new model, showing a revamped grille that appears to have a the same chrome finish. The wheels and bumpers are also expected to be redesigned for the 2022 model.
As for the interior, a new 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen will be installed which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moreover, the system will get the ‘Suzuki Connect’ to improve connectivity on the go. Other expected updates in the cabin include new choices of interior colors and paddle shifters.
One of the biggest changes is found under the hood as the refreshed Ertiga MPV will be getting a new 1.5-liter K15C gasoline engine, replacing the 1.5-liter K15B power unit. What’s more interesting is that the new engine is integrated with hybrid technology.
The new Suzuki Ertiga will be unveiled this April
Suzuki has yet to release the official power output rating of the Ertiga’s new 1.5-liter K15C gasoline engine. However, reports online state that it could generate 113 hp, which is 10 hp more than the outgoing mill. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki did confirm that the 2022 Ertiga will have a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Maruti Suzuki is excited to launch the refreshed Ertiga considering how popular the model is in India. It is now available for reservation in India for Rs 11,000 (or around Php 7,500).
“With over 750,000 delighted customers, Ertiga has been a game-changer in India’s MPV market. We are pleased to introduce the next-gen Ertiga, that redefines style, space, technology, safety, comfort, and convenience of traveling together,” said Maruti Suzuki India Limited Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Shashank Srivastava.
As of this writing, Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH) hasn’t put out a word about whether it will add the new Ertiga to the local lineup or not. But considering that the MPV is the third best-selling unit in SPH’s passenger car lineup last year, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the refreshed version locally to further expand its reach.
