Since the pandemic hit the country in March 2020, the tourism sector has been disrupted, causing local businesses to either scale back their operations or close for good. Fortunately, there are committed organizations such as Nissan Philippines that support the said sector by continuously highlighting some of the most beautiful destinations in the country.
Nissan Philippines and DOT renew their Safe Trips partnership
To underpin its commitment, the Japanese automaker renewed its partnership with the Department of Tourism (DoT) in Boracay to promote safe and responsible travels via their Safe Trips campaign. The contract signing ceremony was graced by officials from Nissan Philippines and the DOT, as well as invited members of the motoring, travel, and lifestyle media.
“Through this campaign, we have seen for ourselves that safety and responsibility are not obstacles to enjoying the beautiful destinations of the Philippines. In fact, they are important factors that make your trip more enjoyable for you and your loved ones. This is an advocacy that we are excited to continue with the DOT,” shared Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima.
Nissan LEAF got to experience the sun, sand, and sea in Boracay
Now in its second year, the most recent Safe Trips campaign destination was in Boracay where a 12-hour land and sea trip took place. Updated Nissan vehicles this year including the Almera, Navara, and Terra participated in the daring media drive, covering over 350 km in total.
The Nissan LEAF also joined the activities, showcasing how electric vehicles (EVs) can safely and comfortably travel long distances just like their internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts. It had an exciting and seamless run through the scenic routes and destinations in Southern Luzon and Mindoro alongside its Nissan siblings.
