This is according to a test conducted in partnership with AAP.

Car buyers have plenty of considerations when settling on their dream rides, and nowadays, one of the more significant factors in choosing a ride is fuel efficiency. So in line with this, Honda Cars Philippines has recently released a list of its most efficient models.

The Honda City Hatchback RS

Before going over the cars, note that these mileage figures are the results of tests performed in partnership with the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP).

This is the same type of test that the AAP conducted on the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid, though the figures of the following Honda models are the average fuel consumption while driving in “the local setting.” And no, it wasn’t indicated whether these are city, highway, or combined fuel eco figures.

Honda City RS sedan

Topping off the list is the Honda HR-V S. According to AAP, this crossover can return a fuel efficiency reading of 29.66 kilometers per liter. Note that this is the non-turbo version of the HR-V that uses a 1.5-liter inline-4 capable of making up to 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque.

Next up is the Honda City 1.5 RS which has a fuel-eco reading of 25.17 km/liter. This is then followed by the City Hatchback 1.5 RS at 25 km/l, the all-new BR-V V at 24.71 km/l, the Brio V at 24.39 km/l, and the CR-V SX Diesel at 23.96 km/l.

The Honda BR-V V

The least fuel-efficient car as per AAP’s results is the Civic RS Turbo with its fuel eco reading of 21.43 km/liter. That’s not a bad reading but any means, especially upon considering that the Civic is a sporty sedan that’s capable of producing up to 175 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.

So how are these Hondas able to achieve these impressive fuel-eco results? Well, one prevailing factor on all of these rides is that they use a continuously variable transmission (CVT). According to the Society of International Engineers (SAE), this type of transmission demonstrates better fuel economy due to its continuous gear ratio change.

The most fuel-efficient model from Honda PH is the HR-V S

On top of that, Honda says that their engines are lean-burning. The result of course is lesser costs for refueling. Plus, it also results in fewer emissions which is helpful for the environment.
