Mercedes-Benz has shown quite a few models that will be present in the era of electric vehicles (EVs) including the 7-seater EQS SUV. This time, Mercedes-AMG, the German automaker’s performance division, previews what we can expect from its electrified lineup with the Vision AMG.
Vision AMG
The Vision AMG is a four-door EV concept coupe designed to take Mercedes-Benz's electric mobility to the next level – from the stellar design to the dedicated AMG.EA platform. Models under the said platform are expected to come out starting in 2025.
“AMG is reinventing itself. As was once the case with our founding fathers, there has been an amazing feeling of new beginnings here in Affalterbach for quite some time now. The course has been well and truly set for an electrified future, and we’ve set the bar high.” said Mercedes-AMG GmBH CEO Philipp Schiemer.
Smooth and aerodynamic body
Design-wise, the Vision AMG comes with three-pointed star headlights connected by a horizontal light band above the grille. The light band can display various animations that evoke innovation. Three-pointed star contours can also be seen across the vehicle, predominantly around the rear wheel fenders.
With the brand’s connection to its Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, the concept car features a similar color theme as the team’s Formula One (F1) car. It includes silver paintwork with functional elements in exposed carbon fiber, 22-inch wheels with aero claddings, AMG logo and elements, and a diffuser in the Petronas colors.

No powertrain details have been disclosed. But the automaker revealed that the drivetrain components are developed entirely from scratch to enhance the overall driving experience. While that part is yet to be revealed, we can only relish the appearance that is based on the brand’s design language “Beauty & the Extraordinary.”
“The Vision AMG shows in spectacular style what electrification could look like at Mercedes-AMG, while staying true to the brand aesthetic. The study’s extreme proportions create fascination and passion for performance – that’s what AMG is all about,” said Mercedes-Benz Group AG Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener.
