Mazda Philippines president Steven Tan announced that the company is offering a special edition model in celebration of the Miata Club of the Philippines’ (MCP) 25th anniversary.

Revealed during the virtual launch of the 2022 Mazda MX-5, Tan said that the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition model is exclusively for the Philippine market. It is available in limited-time production with priority reservations for MCP members until February 28.
The special edition Mazda MX-5 comes with Platinum Quartz Metallic paint along with a navy blue soft top. It also comes with a red stripe accent that can be seen from the hood all the way to the sports car’s rear. The Mazda MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition sits on a set of 17-inch Hyper Silver alloy wheels.

The interior is integrated with black leather seats as well as a nine-speaker Bose sound system. It is equipped with the same 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G gasoline engine that puts out 182 hp and 205 Nm of torque. Mazda PH said that it also comes with the Kinematic Posture Control (KPC), a new tech that aims to improve the sports car’s stability, ride comfort, and handling. The KPC is one of the new features that can also be found on the 2022 Mazda MX-5.
The Mazda MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition is available in either a six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic transmission. The manual variant is priced at Php 2,250,000 while the automatic retails at Php 2,300,000.

Mazda PH shared that the first batch of deliveries is scheduled for September 2022. The final delivery, on the other hand, will be on September 2023. The first 25 individuals who will purchase the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition will get a free coffee table book that highlights the milestones of the MCP.
