GAC Motor Philippines has been on a mission since the start of the year, and the company is looking to make its presence felt in the local subcompact compact market with the launching of the all-new GS3 Emzoom.
2023 GAC GS3 Emzoom
From the front to the back, the all-new GAC GS3 Emzoom features significant changes over the outgoing model. To keep you up to speed with the latest from this more modern-looking crossover, read on to check out the comparison between the old and the new models.
GAC GS3 Old vs New: Exterior
Dimensions-wise, the new GS3 Emzoom is 60mm longer, 25mm wider, and 90mm longer in terms of wheelbase. While the previous model is 80mm taller, the lower height gives the crossover its sporty, low-slung design. The wheels are also larger, with the top-spec GS3 Emzoom GL getting variant-exclusive 19-inch wheels.

The GS3 Emzoom arrives with a more intricate design that looks a lot different from the predecessor even when parked next to each other. It gets sharp-looking front fascia, more pronounced character lines, and twin-exhaust tips that add sportiness to the finish.
GAC GS3 Old vs New: Interior
Inside, the G3 Emzoom comes with a less busy design that undoubtedly gives a more modern appearance. From the new unified screen consisting of a seven-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen alone, the interior of the old GS3 should look outdated.

While both the old and new iterations have a black cabin theme, the latter is available with a wide array of interior color options. It is offered with a blue and black interior, a green and beige interior, and a camel brown interior. Moreover, adding a brighter appeal is the use of multi-color ambient lighting.
GAC GS3 Old vs New: Tech & Safety
The aforementioned head unit supports Apple CarPlay and Android Phone Mirroring as standard. However, only the top-sec GL gets to benefit from a wireless charger. These new amenities were not even made available in the old model.
The GS3 gets huge tech updates
Perhaps the biggest update is the integration of an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). Exclusively available in the flagship variant, the system provides Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Integrated Cruise Assist (ICA), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Traffic Sign Recognition System (TSR), among others.
GAC GS3 Old vs New: Engine
The turbocharged engine got also slightly larger as the GS3 Emzoom is now powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine good for 174 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. In comparison to the previous turbocharged powertrain, the new one makes 38 more horsepower and 68 more Nm of torque.
The crossover gets a more potent turbocharged mill
Another new powertrain component is the transmission, with the all-new version using a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT). This should provide quicker and smoother shifts than the six-speed auto gearbox from the previous model.
