Kia unveiled the design of the facelifted Carnival for its fourth-generation iteration. Although, the Korean automaker is showing the exterior only for now – which exudes a more modern appeal as compared to the outgoing model.

Based on Kia’s design language “Opposites United”, the new Carnival comes with redesigned headlights and the signature ‘star map lighting’ daytime running lights (DRLs) we saw last week thanks to a spy shot. There is also the reworked grille designed to provide a luxurious appeal.

To the sides, the front and rear lighting clusters are connected with a straight character line to “create a sense of balance.” While the automaker retained the distinct silver accent on the C-pillar, the minivan gets a new wheel design one may recognize from the Kia EV9.

The ‘star map lighting’ motif continues to the rear as seen in the redesigned taillights. The license plate is moved downward, while the exposed handle is removed, providing a cleaner finish to the back.

The minivan gets a more modern appeal

The new Kia Carnival comes with six exterior colors: Snow White Pearl, Astra Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Pantera Metal, Ceramic Silver, and the new Ivory Silver.

The automaker also revealed that it plans to add a 1.6-liter hybrid turbo engine to the range consisting of gasoline and diesel powertrains. In the Kia Sportage Hybrid, the power unit makes 226 horsepower and 349 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the PH-spec Carnival gets a 2.2-liter turbodiesel capable of generating 199 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque.

Kia should disclose more details about the new Carnival closer to its launch in the coming weeks including the pricing.

But considering the facelift treatment, we could expect a price increase. Currently, Kia Philippines offers the minivan with a price ranging from Php 2,640,000 to Php 3,088,000 (additional Php 10,000 for the Pearl Color).
