Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled its update of the Urvan for the 2022 model in Japan. It received improvements on both aesthetics and safety features where one can say made the commercial van look more modern. This makes the update the second facelift of the current sixth-generation model.
2022 Nissan Urvan facelift
New to the 2022 Nissan Urvan (or called Caravan in Japan) is the redesigned grille and front bumper. Looking closely at the grille, it poses similar features as the one integrated into the Nissan Navara. No other changes can be seen other than those two. Regardless, it is enough to make it keep up with the rest of the recently updated Nissan models.
Nissan Japan offers a total of eight color options for the Urvan, including three new paint finishes. The new ones consist of the Pure White Pearl, Midnight Black, and Stealth Gray, while the carried-over options include the Imperial Amber, White, Brilliant Silver, Dark Metal Gray, and Dark Blue.
Slightly reworked interior layout
Climbing into the cabin, not a lot of changes have been made for the interior. But the Japanese commercial van gets a few features to make it look more modern. These include a new 5-inch TFT display which improves readability and a revamped D-shaped steering wheel similar to the one in the new Nissan Almera.
Perhaps the highlight of the update is the use of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility. It offers features such as Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, Intelligent Emergency Brake, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Hill Start Assist.
It is offered with a wide array of body configurations
Under the hood, the Nissan commercial van still gets the same 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter gasoline engines. However, the manual transmission has been discontinued from the range. Also, the 5-speed auto gearbox is replaced with a 7-speed automatic transmission which can provide better flexibility in tackling various road conditions.
The new Urvan gets up to speed in terms of design and tech
The 2022 Nissan Urvan is offered with a price that ranges from 2,412,300 yen (or around Php 1,075,000) to 4,097,500 yen (or around Php 1,826,000). As of this writing, Nissan Philippines hasn’t released any word whether it will bring in the updated Urvan to the local lineup or not.
