The SUV lineup may be quite daunting at first but if you know what you are looking for BMW has you covered. Let’s check out their SUV roster and find the perfect one for yours!

The smallest of the bunch is never lacking in power and sportiness

The BMW X1 is the brands’ Compact SUV contender that goes toe to toe with its compatriots the Mercedes GLA, Audi Q3 and other popular models like the Volvo XC40 and Jaguar E-Pace. It is an all-wheel-drive BMW crossover based on the UKL2 platform shared between BMW and MINI.

Driving dynamics still point towards this being an excellent alternative to the rest of the pack thanks to the xDrive system. Space is maximized inside for both occupants and luggage. Fuel consumption is also amazing at a tested 18.3km/l on the highway. Expect those numbers to drop once in the city, 11 km/l for pure city driving would be the norm.

2. BMW X2: An adventurous BMW SUV Philippines

For the more adventurous type who couldn’t care less about interior space but loves the great outdoors, BMW has just the thing. The BMW X2 offers the same engine and power but thanks to BMW’s Xdrive system it gains all-wheel drive for traction good enough for even the toughest terrain.

This compact luxury crossover rides on the same wheelbase as BMW X1 and the MINI Countryman.

If you want to have a Subaru model but only buy BMWs exclusively

It is smaller and more compact than the BMW X1 as this is aimed at customers with an active lifestyle but still wishes to have the prestige BMW offers as well as the power of that twin-turbo diesel engine.

The one that started it all, really for BMW. Along with the larger X5, the BMW X3 was the brand’s first foray into the blossoming SUV market. Now in its 3rd generation the BMW X1 G01.

This new generation runs on an all-new platform designed by BMW Australian designer Calvin Luk. It is around 55 kg lighter than the previous generation thanks to streamlining parts but doesn’t skimp on performance.

The BMW X3 is the perfect balance of power, size, and feistiness

The xDrive system rears its head in this model allowing for intelligent all-wheel-drive capabilities. The BMW X3 can realistically make around 9 km/l in the city which if you ask me is definitely not bad at all.

It has to take on the Porsche Macan, Jaguar F-Pace, Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S and Audi SQ5, so if you are considering any of those models you might want to do a double-take on the BMW X3.

4. BMW X4: Miniature X6 BMW SUV Philippines

2.0L DOHC 16-valve Inline-4 TwinPower Turbodiesel

The BMW X4 is a real quirky machine that runs in the vein and inspired by the much bigger “sport activity coupe” BMW X6. In fact, it looks like a miniature version of that model. It features a coupe-like profile with a fast-back or shooting brake rear hatch.

Thankfully it shied away from its big brother’s 2+2 seating configuration, instead of going for a more practical 5-seat layout. Rear occupants may find it hard to be comfortable no thanks to that sloping rear hatch, though.

If you want to have a smaller X6, and it's X4 for your choice

Comfort for the rear passengers isn’t really the BMW X4’s priority as this was meant to be an activity vehicle for those who live an active lifestyle. BMW X4 also has the xDrive all-wheel-drive system making it even more capable to go offroading every now and then.

Much like the previous models it also has the same 2-liter twin-turbo engine. Expect city driving to be hovering around the 10km/l range.

5. BMW X5: The granddaddy BMW SUV Philippines

Specifications
Name
BMW X5 xDrive30d xLine
Engine
3.0L DOHC 16-valve Inline-6 TwinPower Turbodiesel
Power
265 hp @ 4000 rpm
Torque
620 Nm @ 2,000-2,500 rpm
Transmission
8-Speed Automatic
Price
P 5,990,000

This is the part where it gets really beefy. Right off the bat, the BMW X5 features an even more powerful 3-liter twin-turbocharged oil burner. It has gobs of power and pulling capabilities to the tune of 620 Nm of torque, which is apt as it has to pull all that weight around.

You can use this as an activity vehicle much like the X1 to the X4 but those comfortable and luxurious seats beckon you to sit back and relax. This large mid-sized SUV charges against the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, Porsche Cayenne Land Rover Range Rover Sport and even the Lincoln Aviator. Based on that rival line-up you know it is against the big boys.

BMW's first-ever SUV now in its 3rd generation

The heavier weight and the larger engine can only do so much for your fuel economy. 7 to 8 km/l in pure city driving would be the best you can come up with. Not that THAT figure isn’t a bad one. It is still better than most cars on the road.

BMW X6 on the road

BMW insists that this is a sports activity coupe

The controversial BMW X6 for sale is available in the Philippines is available in the Philippines and you can have it for a really cool P 9,190,000. It is being marketed as a Sports Activity Coupe, which means it aspires to be more of a sports car than a practical SUV. Despite its massive size, seating capacity is limited to a 2+2 seating configuration, much like a sports car.

You cannot find a rival that would face off against the X6 spec to spec as it is unique in the segment. The sloping roofline gives the headroom penalty for rear occupants, but we’re sure you would want to drive this yourself instead!

Here we are at the top of the BMW Mountain. BMW has always been known for their engineering and luxury heritage and reputation. It seems as if, though, that they put out all the stops for this one. The internet’s favorite meme for quite some time in mid-2019 thanks to its humongous and seemingly exaggerated front kidney grill design.

BMW X7 the apperance

The grill that got a thousand memes

Inside the BMW X7 is pure decadence, leather, and wood paneling greet your entrance. You know that you’ve won in life and finally made it when you have found yourself at the backseat of one of these cars. Should we still discuss fuel economy? I don’t think so. At this point, food, fuel, lodging is never a selling point.

So there you have it, boys and girls! In the market for an all-new BMW SUV? As I’ve said earlier they have quite an expensive lineup of the vehicle for all your needs.
