By being popular though, there are many other models from other brands gunning to take the top spot from the said Toyota model. These are the Suzuki Ertiga, the Mitsubishi Xpander, Geely Okavango, GAC GN6, and Maxus G50.

So, how does the Toyota Innova’s dimensions compare against its rivals?

Toyota Innova: Summary of specs

Before comparing it to its MPV competitors, let us lift off the Toyota Innova’s specifications.

For the Philippine-spec model, the Innova’s sole engine option is a 2.8-liter turbodiesel inline-4. At maximum, this mill can churn out 171 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to its rear wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox, or five-speed manual transmission.

The Toyota Innova

Of note, the 2021 Toyota Innova is one of the few MPVs in the country that uses a ladder-frame chassis. To be exact, it shares plenty of mechanical bits with the current Toyota Hilux and Fortuner.

For dimensions, the Toyota Innova’s length spans 4,735mm. It then has a width of 1,830mm, a height of 1,795mm, and a wheelbase length of 2,750mm.

Toyota Innova vs Geely Okavango: Dimensions

The seven-seater, front-wheel-drive Geely Okavango comes with a length of 4,835mm. That’s 100mm longer than the Innova. It is also marginally wider at 1,900mm, and it also has a longer wheelbase at 2,815mm.

Then again, the Okavango has less height compared to the Innova at 1,785mm.

Toyota Innova vs GAC GN6: Dimensions

Compared to the Toyota-made MPV, the seven-seater GAC GN6 is slighter longer at 4,780mm, and a bit wider at 1,860mm. Its wheelbase is also longer at 2,810mm.

The Maxus G50

Size-wise, the Maxus G50 is also larger than the Toyota Innova in general. It comes with a length of 4,825mm, a width of 1,825mm, and a height of 1,700mm (including roof rails). It also has a longer wheelbase at 2,800mm.

Toyota Innova vs Mitsubishi Xpander: Dimensions

The Mitsubishi Xpander is a seven-seater compact MPV that uses a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout.

Size-wise, it is 4,475mm long, 1,750mm wide, and 1,700mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,775mm. That means it is significantly shorter and narrower than the Toyota Innova. It does have a wheelbase that is 25mm longer than the Innova’s.

Toyota Innova vs Suzuki Ertiga: Dimensions

Compared to the Innova, the Suzuki Ertiga is a bit more compact. In fact, it is the smallest MPV on this comparison list.

The Suzuki Ertiga

For length, the Ertiga has 4,475mm. It is also 1,735mm wide, and 1,690mm in height. Its wheelbase length, though, is 2,740mm. That’s just 10mm shorter than the Innova’s.

Why compare dimensions?

In the case of the MPVs listed here, they are guaranteed to provide a great amount of elbow room and legroom. But for those who want the most space, being aware of a model’s size is important. This is also important if the folks who are going to ride the said MPV are a bit wider or taller than your average Filipino. Maximizing cargo space is also easier if you have more in the way of overall size.
