It is hard to keep it real in the world of car culture. There are so many cars to choose from, with large SUVs, family saloons and mini hatchbacks. Most of our considerations in making our car purchase is between practicality, functionality or overall cost of ownership.

There is no denying that we love all our cars, but you can definitely feel the compromise as is the case with everything in life.

Every downshifts and heel-toe maneuver gives you impeccable response no other car can give you. Our love affair with cars knows no bounds and I myself love my own family sedan, but these types of cars? Pure adrenaline, pure lust.

Audi prides itself in its Quattro Permanent all-wheel-drive system and showcases it well in it’s balls-to-the-wall Audi R8, better known as Iron Man’s car in the Marvel movies. Powered by a 5.2 l V10 engine pushing 602 hp and 560 Nm of torque to all 4 wheels, you get the reason why it is one of the most coveted sports cars out there.

If Audi earns the distinction as being Iron Man’s sports car, BMW definitely has James Bond, well the Pierce Brosnan version anyway. The BMW Z4 M40i is a pure sports car and perfect the only way BMW knows how. It shares the same platform as the Toyota Supra, but I think a head-to-head between the 2 is necessary to figure out which is better.

#3. Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 3LT

Although the all-new Chevy Corvette Stingray is being released internationally and receiving much praise for its design and engineering, the current generation Corvette C7 which is available in the Philippines with the Stingray package in the 3LT trim is still no slouch.

The rear-wheel-drive hard top seats just 2 and is powered by a growling 6.2 l V8 engine. Let’s see those pesky JDM cars catch you in this one.

#4. Jaguar F-Type SVR 5.0 Supercharged Coupe

Jaguar has taken major strides of late to have people forget about their misgivings of the early 2000s. Remember the X-Type? I didn’t think so.

They more than made up for it with another W with the Jaguar F-Type, a modern sports car that can propel you from 0 to holey moley in just 3.5 seconds thanks to a supercharged 5 liter V8! When Jaguar decided to bring sexy and excitement back, I didn’t know they’d go this far, and thankfully they have.

#5. Mazda MX-5

What is the best first sports car for any enthusiast? What Sports Car can you use for track days, drift sessions, drag strips, autocross, and even maybe rally events? Whatever you need Miata Is Always The Answer.

This car is pretty much accepted in almost all car clubs no matter what their leaning is, it is the Miss Congeniality of cars and why not?

With its perfect weight balance and power ratio, not to mention its good looks, available in a soft top and retractable rooftop. You can definitely do much much worse than the Mazda MX-5

The Nissan GT-R, Godzilla on wheels, one of the very few Japanese Cars that the mere mention of its name sends shivers down spines everywhere. It may be only powered by a 3.8 liter V6 but thanks to Twin Turbo power it can duke it out with any and the best of them. All-wheel-drive ensures traction for days. The Nissan GT-R is by far my favorite car in this list.

#7. Subaru BRZ / Toyota GT-86

You might be wondering why the Subaru BRZ and the Toyota GT-86 are stacked up together in one item, it is because they are essentially the same car. It has a 2 liter Boxer engine which is the same one found in the Subaru WRX but naturally aspirated.

They both exhibit the same driving dynamics and weight balance making them the perfect first sports car for everyday use. If there are cars the Mazda MX-5 should be shaking in its knees about, its these twins.

These two have been the best thing that has ever happened to modern cars. A return to form for both brands

Unveiled this year at the North American International Auto Show, the Toyota Supra 2020 was a response to many fans clamoring for Toyota to release another generation of the iconic nameplate. Toyota tapped BMW to partner with and engineer the ultimate all- New Toyota Supra and they delivered.

Running on the same platform as the BMW Z4 the Supra still runs on the Toyota Spirit. It even retains the old Supra badge for nostalgia’s sake. We can’t wait to get our hands on a unit to show you guys!
