The Toyota Hilux and the Toyota Corolla Cross join the lineup of models that received a price bump in 2023. If one remembers, the previous ones that saw a recent increase in price are the Fortuner midsize SUV and the Wigo small hatchback.

As seen on the table above, all non-fleet variants of the Toyota Hilux, including the top-spec GR-S trim, saw a price bump of Php 18,000.
Meanwhile, the Corolla Cross saw the biggest price change. Specifically, Toyota tacked on an additional Php 70,000 on the top-spec GR-S trim’s sticker price. The mid-spec V and the entry level G are both Php 15,000 more expensive this year.
The Toyota Corolla Cross GR-S
Just like we’ve been saying in our previous reports on price adjustments, there are plenty of factors that cause this. But mainly, it can be attributed to the ever-changing economic status of the country. That said, prices are adjusted to fit our current inflation and currency exchange rates, among others.
Also note that in other cases, prices are increased when a model is updated and gets new features. In this case though, the Hilux and the Corolla Cross both remain unchanged from their 2022 model year versions.

This popular pickup continues to evolve and slowly move upmarket after gaining luxuries. The most significant revolutionary jump of the Hilux happened in 2004 when the seventh-generation of the model was introduced. It was the first 21st-century iteration of Toyota's pickup. It is also the first generation to ride on Toyota’s new Innovative Multi-purpose Vehicle architecture. It provided improved safety, better ride comfort, modern D-4D diesel engines, more interior space, and a more modern aerodynamic body.
The current 8th generation offers a more refined and stylish design than its predecessor, but the tradition of being a tough pickup continues. It received a much-awaited refresh in 2020.
