Recently, Honda has decided to increase the heated-up Honda Civic Type R 2018 price by $605 (equivalent to roughly P31,000) in the US market, pushing the car’s base price up to $35,595 (approximately P1,842,000) including $895 (P46,000) for destination charge.
According to the latest car news, the updated price will start being charged in this May. Besides, the increase of the Civic price will also affect the normal Honda Civics with an addition of $100 (P5,100) to the base price. Especially, with a slight bump, the Honda Civic Type R 2018 price is still less expensive than its upcoming contender - the VW Golf R.

Despite getting a rise in pricing, the Civic Type R is still a worthy buying as the car stays in the $40,000 range with even more accessories including wireless charger, dust cover, carbon fiber rear spoiler, door mirror cover and side molding. At the new base price, there is already an available package consisting of an Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 7’’ touchscreen with navigation, Brembo brakes, 20’’ wheels and Continental tires.

The Honda Civic Type R 2018 is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine which is capable of cranking out 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque, driven by the front wheels and works in a conjunction with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Civic Type R is expected to go head to head with the hatch VW Golf R. Meanwhile, many believe that it will also fight against the Subaru WRX STI but in fact, the Subaru model is technically not a hatchback.

The 2023 Honda Civic Type R is a high-performance, compact, five-seater, front-wheel-drive liftback. In the Philippine market, it carries a standard retail price of Php 3,880,000.
Under the hood of the Civic Type R is a 2.0-liter inline-4 gasoline turbocharged engine that can make up to 316 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. The said engine is then paired with a six-speed manual gearbox with rev-matching.
Size-wise, the latest version of the Civic Type R is 4,593mm long, 1,890mm wide, and 1,407mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,735mm, and a ground clearance of 123mm.
