Despite its small overall look, the S-Presso actually has a decent amount of ground clearance, even when compared to bigger crossovers.

After its launch in March 2020, the new Suzuki S-Presso continues to impress many Filipino car buyers with its superb features and its masculine-looking exterior design.

The S-Presso replaced the Alto as the most affordable vehicle currently in Suzuki’s lineup. It may be tall, but it isn’t a crossover but more of a lifted hatchback.

2020 Suzuki S-Presso Philippines: Specs, Features, and Pricing Overview

One feature worth mentioning in consideration of its subcompact nature is its outstanding ground clearance measured at 180mm. In addition, the Suzuki S-Presso has a total dimension of 3565mm x 1520m x 1565mm.

Owning a vehicle with high clearance can have many advantages: it employs more road visibility, you can drive over road surfaces like terrains or curbs with ease, and drivers can easily see you which lessen the chance of you getting into an accident.

To further appreciate Suzuki S-Presso’s relatively high ground clearance for its size, we have listed down crossovers that have a lower ground clearance than the new contender in town.

Geely Azkarra

One of the newest contenders in the Philippine crossover market, the Azkarra, has a ground clearance measured at 163mm – 17mm short than the S-Presso’s. In terms of total dimension, the Azkarra is 4,544mm long, 1831mm wide, and 1,713mm high.

Mazda CX-3

With Mazda’s Kodo principle in designing its vehicles, we kind of expect that the Japanese automaker will keep it as simple and make it look like it’s firmly planted to the ground as possible.

The Mazda CX-3 is recorded to have 155mm, which is a tad too low for a crossover, we must say.
