As we get closer to the release date of the 2021 Hyundai Kona, we are seeing more and more substantial changes to the subcompact crossover. It is expected to be out in summer 2020.
The Kona was first introduced by Hyundai in 2018 and joined the diverse subcompact crossover lineup. It is stylish, versatile, and reasonably affordable.
With all the expected features to be added, one can hope that it will further solidify its place in the subcompact crossover segment.

In the spy shots taken by the Korean Car Blog, we can see that the Hyundai Kona will be equipped with a larger front grille. If you look closely, it appears to be the massive front grille we see from the redesigned 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe.
The signature grille design could be a trademark for the newer versions of the Hyundai SUVs. It looks exceptional on the Hyundai Santa Fe, but it would be interesting to see it on a smaller subcompact crossover like the Hyundai Kona.

Based on the spy shots of the Hyundai Kona, it will likely keep its sharp headlights, be installed with new wheels, and new signature LED taillights – possible connected taillights. We could also see some subtle changes to the front bumper.
Locally, the Hyundai Kona will have a tough competition in the competitive subcompact crossover segment – going against the likes of Toyota Rush, Ford EcoSport, and Honda BR-V.
