Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has recently stirred up the local automotive market by premiering special editions for two of its most popular vehicles, the Isuzu MU-X Luxe 2018 and the Isuzu D-Max X-Series 2018. IPC stated that both limited editions would receive some freshment to fight against their rivals and bring excitement to the competition.
According to Mr. Hajime Koso - President of IPC, freshening up their lineup is very essential so as to strengthen its postition in such a demanding and competitive market, particularly the SUV and pick-up segment. He added that the introduction of these two more luxurious and aggressive MU-X and D-Max models is expected to help the brand stand out from its competitors and up against in the competition.
Speaking of the Isuzu D-Max X-Series 2018, the car now owns a sportier design with a blacked-out grille at the front, highlighted by a red logo of Isuzu.

The new front is also accented by red cues and the rear skirt makes the pickup look more aerodynamic and aggressive. Some equipment is also added to the X-Series exterior including red foglight bezels, a color-keyed tailgate spoiler, red lip highlights, black roof rails and black 18’’ alloy wheels.

Stepping inside, the limited pickup boasts an elegant and glossy design of an illuminated bench plate with Isuzu logo in red. Passengers and driver now have additional USB ports for their charging.

Moving on to the Isuzu MU-X Luxe 2018, the Japanese automaker has given its flagship SUV with special fender flares generating gray light. Aside from providing the SUV a tougher look, the newly-added flares enhance protection as they can deflect debris and rocks from the car.
The MU-X Luxe interior is beautified by a 3D surround audio system and fresh scuff plate flashed in blue. It seems that the most noticeable addition to the SUV is the Power Lift Tailgate. With this new feature, motorists can now close and open the car’s tailgate easily to make the loading of cargo simpler by pushing a button.

Both MU-X Luxe and the D-Max X-Series 2018 are armed by the 3.0 L turbo-diesel 4JJ1-TCX BluePower engine which is capable of 175 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The two cars are offered with only 4x2 trim. The MU-X engine is combined with a 6-speed automatic gearbox while the D-Max X-Series mill works in a conjunction with a 5-speed automatic or manual transmission.

The Isuzu D-Max 2024 is a 5-seater pickup truck that is available in several variants with various options for a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is offering this truck at a price that ranges from Php 938,000 to Php 1,945,000. There are two engine options powering the D-Max. One is a 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC inline-4 turbodiesel engine that makes 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, while the other is a 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX inline-4 turbodiesel engine that delivers 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The top-spec D-Max Philippines is the only variant equipped with the Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), a tech that’s similar to Subaru’s EyeSight.
