The 1.9L version of Isuzu turbodiesel Blue Power Technology engine will soon be launched in the Philippines. This is revealed by Mr. Hajime Koso, President of Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) in a closed-door interview with the attendance of selected members of the media.

According to the latest car news, the President didn’t disclose any information about which model will be equipped with the new engine and expected people to keep waiting for its local premiere. Mr. Joseph Bautista, Head of IPC Sales Division also informed that Isuzu is now getting ready for the arrival of the 1.9L version of Isuzu turbodiesel Blue Power Technology engine, but he didn’t say anything about release date or order time, either.

Isuzu is now getting ready for the arrival of the 1.9L version of Isuzu turbodiesel Blue Power Technology engine
In fact, the current Isuzu D-Max and Isuzu MU-X have been already equipped with the 1.9L variant in other markets. The engine made its first debut a few years ago on the D-Max and then the MU-X. This engine version is capable of dishing out 148 hp and 360 Nm of torque and works in conjunction with both six-speed automatic and six-speed manual gearboxes.

While Isuzu Philippines still keeps silent about the selected vehicle, it is estimated that one or even both the MU-X and D-Max will be powered by the 1.9L version. At the present, the Isuzu MU-X 2018 solely comes with the 3.0L engine paired with an automatic transmission. Thus, with new engine option, hope that more new variants could be soon released in order to duel with other rivals in its class.

The Isuzu D-Max 2023 is a 5-seater pickup truck that is available in several variants with various options for a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is offering this truck at a price that ranges from Php 917,000 to Php 1,9055,000. There are two engine options powering the D-Max. One is a 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC inline-4 turbodiesel engine that makes 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, while the other is a 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX inline-4 turbodiesel engine that delivers 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission can be paired to the said engines.
In terms of dimensions, the D-Max spans 5,277 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,810 mm in height. It boasts a ground clearance rated at 240 mm, as well as a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. Some of the competitors of the Isuzu pickup truck in the Philippines are the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, and Mazda BT-50.
