Ford PH has recently updated the heated-up Ford EcoSport 2018, bringing it not only a fresh look, advanced equipment but also new powertrain.
The EcoSport has become one of the top-selling models of the Blue Oval since its debut in 2014. The car’s launch also brought to the Philippine market the mini crossover segment, which Ford has ruled in the past four years.
The most noticeable change for the EcoSport 2018 is the introduction of the Ford’s 1.0L inline-3-cylinder EcoBoost mill for the top-of-the-line Titanium version. The engine works in a conjunction with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and is capable of cranking out 125 ps and 170 Nm of torque.

As for 3 other versions, the American carmaker has offered a fresh and stronger 1.5L powertrain featuring Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing to enhance fuel efficiency. It can produce 123 ps and 150 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual transmission.
Walking around, the Ford EcoSport 2018 comes with just minor changes, getting lightweight 17’’ alloy wheels, new headlamps, hood design and a fresh grille.
Meanwhile, the interior receives great tweaks with a completely different dashboard. The car is now equipped with a more classic setup with an 8’’ multicolor touchscreen display, plus intuitive layout and a modified interface for the Titanium version.
Additionally, the cabin space has been also widen to contain up to 1,178L and even armed with 25 smart storage compartments.

The Ford EcoSport 2018 is furnished with a series of smart features including Auto Start/Stop function, Anti-Lock Brake System, Electronic Stability Control, Rear View Camera, Automatic Headlamps, Electronic Brake-force Distribution System, Rear Parking Assist, Smart Keyless Entry, Rain Sensing Wipers and the Hill Start Assist Control.
The EcoSport also owns a newly-equipped SYNC 3 system, helping drivers not be distracted while driving on the road.
