Fourth-gen Ford Focus 2019 officially breaks cover

Ford fans, after a long time of looking forward to the debut of the all-new Focus, now can cheer themselves up with the official revelation of the Ford Focus 2019.

Speaking of the hatchback, its front features a wide grille in shape of an upside-down trapezoidal. The styling design of sleek upswept headlights also adds beauty to the front. Its front fascia’s corners are toned by the defined edges. This new look of the hatchback is applied to the wagon and sedan version as well.

Adding up to the new look, there will no longer be Ford’s nearly-20-year-old third window and its replacement will be a window line bending upwards, pretty much the same with the existing generation; the window line also receives a reverse kink treatment for the rear window. Ford made its fenders just out a little making the Ford Focus 2019 a wider stance. Coming to the back, the fascia features dominant extended wraparound taillights. The carmaker also decides to widen the tailgate’s opening as well. Besides, it’s up to each variant to get different treatments applied to the bumper. And, the integrated rear spoiler comes standard on all the models.

Talking about the sedan Focus, it undergoes a big difference in the middle compared to the hatch. The only feature they share is the upswept window line. Longer rear doors get more upright, which contributes to a roofline looking more formal. While compared to the existing model, the rear windshield is made much more inclined. In addition, a similar treatment applied to the hatchback’s taillights comes in the sedan as well. The elements in the longer lights are the things we can easily see from the sedan.

And as for the wagon counterpart, it gets the most upright body. Overall, it gets many similarities of the hatch’s lines although a remarkable difference made in the longer tail end. Getting a slim third window, the wagon gains a more rakish look. The back also reminds of what’s in the hatch with the similar rear fascia and upright tailgate.

In terms of engine range, the Ford Focus 2019 comes with 4-turbocharged gas engines and 3 turbodiesels. If the Ecoboost starts with the 1.0-litre version producing 85 PS and capable of getting to 100 PS and 125 PS, then the 1.5-litre Ecoboost putting 150 PS are able to reach 182 PS.

New turbodiesels get a new name EcoBlue. As for the EcoBlue, its 1.5-litre mill doles out 95 PS and able to deliver 120 PS. The two 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesels share the same torque of 300 Nm. The most powerful diesel range is the 2.0-litre EcoBlue which is claimed to crank out 370 Nm of torque and 150 PS. Transmission options include a new 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual.

According to the latest car news, the 4th-iteration Ford Focus 2019 will arrive to Chinese and European dealerships later this year.
