Say hello to the Ranger Raptor Lite.

The local midsize pickup truck category is getting even more competitive as car brands launched their respective new segment challengers. The facelifted Ford Ranger and the all-new Isuzu D-Max are some of the trucks that enter the Philippine market. On the other hand, there are reports which suggest that Nissan might launch the new Navara soon.

Ford Philippines want to capitalize its presence in the said segment as it launches another Ranger variant, the 2021 Ranger FX4 Max. The said truck is inspired by the off-road capabilities of the Ranger Raptor but with more focus on being a workhorse pickup.

Tech & Safety

The 2021 Ford Ranger FX4 Max is integrated with tech and safety features that are intended to make your drives safer and more convenient. Placed right at the center of the dashboard is an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The truck is also equipped with Smart Keyless Entry with Push Button Start, SYNC 3 with Voice-Activated controls, Bluetooth with Phone/Audio streaming, two USB ports, and six speakers.

In terms of safety, the Ranger FX4 Max gets driver-assist features such as cruise control. It also has an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, roll-over Mitigation, and Traction Control. Moreover, the truck comes with a hill start assist, hill descent control, rear parking sensors, Isofix, and driver and passenger airbags.

Unlike the Ranger Raptor that has a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, the FX4 Max can tow up to 3,500 kg. The reason for this is that the Ranger FX4 Max has a leaf spring rather than a coil setup. The Ranger FX4 Max’s suspension setup also translates to a 981 kg payload capacity as compared to the Ranger Raptor’s 748 kg. The Ranger FX4 Max also comes with 2.0-inch monotube Fox shock absorbers for both front and rear.
