Pick-up trucks here in the Philippines are popular for a multitude of reasons. There are the utility and practicality these kinds of vehicles can provide because of their cargo bed all the while providing comfortable seating within their cushy, spacious cabins.
New Isuzu D-MAX LS-A 'Tough Enough for Anything'
And of course, some roads here in the country are not actually that great and some, as you might have experienced, is downright muddy.
As such, Isuzu Philippines has deigned that it very appropriate to release the all-new Isuzu D-Max LS-A, which simply put, is a rugged beast of a truck.
1. The all-new Isuzu D-Max 2020 LS-A: Tougher and more capable
Now there are many elements of the new D-Max LS-A which makes it stand out even from its older versions. There’s the new bumper guard that comes with a potentially very useful skid plate and the grille is now grey in color. The 4x4 models of the LS-A even get a protective cover for its transfer case.
Towards the sides, you will also notice that the all-new Isuzu D-Max now come with matte colored parts for its fenders and a set of stylish looking 18-inch alloy wheels. Other improvements made to the new D-Max also include a cargo bed extender and a beefy pair of roof rails.
In terms of dimensions, it is quite noticeable that the new D-Max LS-A is much chunkier than ever before. From the previous version, the new one gets an additional 50 mm of length and is also 65 mm taller. The width though remains quite the same. As for the cargo bed, it also grew a bit taller thanks to that new extender and will definitely be useful for stacking up more stuff.

Note the cargo bed extenders which vastly adds to the cargo capabilities of the D-Max
While there are very visible updates on the outside of the new D-Max, the interior looks entirely like the previous version. There’s still that pretty decent 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with am/fm radio, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and AUX, CD/DVD and Wi-fi. Also, the automatic climate control system makes its return.
As for the interior itself, the seats and the steering wheel are still clad with leather and overall, the positioning of the controls, as well as interior space, is just as roomy and comfortable as the previous Isuzu D-Max cars for sale..
As for safety equipment, the new LS-A is pretty well equipped. It has dual front airbags, ISOFIX, an anti-lock braking system with EBD, brake assist, traction control, stability control, hill-start descent control, hill-start assist, as well as a reversing camera with sensors. The new LS-A also gets keyless entry.
2. Isuzu D-Max 2020 LS-A: The same reliable, powerful engine
Likewise under the hood not much has changed as the powerful 4JJ1-TCX turbo-diesel with BluePower technology makes its return on the all-new D-Max LS-A. The said engine still makes a hefty 174 horsepower peaking at 3600 rpm with 380 nm of torque at 1800-2800 rpm. Unlike the D-Max Boondock version released months ago which didn’t have a 4x4, the new D-Max LS-A is available in both 4x2 and 4x4.
Overall, the new D-Max LS-A appears to have gotten a ton of improvements with respects to its off-roading capability and for its utility as per the cargo bed extender. We also appreciate the new, tougher image that the new D-Max exudes with its new front bumper and grille. It’s pretty macho and will make the vehicle stand out more.
It might be the same old engine, but you cannot deny the power it makes
