SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. (SMCACDC), BMW’s official distributor in the Philippines, is expanding its reach in the local market with the 2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe alongside the all-new BMW iX.

Exterior
Exterior-wise, the 2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe gets the brand’s signature kidney grille which is complemented by the full LED headlights. It sports massive black air vents at the front and a black skid plate at the back. For that sporty rear-end look, the vehicle comes with a dual exhaust pipe setup along with sharp character lines.

As standard, the subcompact executive car comes with the M Aerodynamic Package. Included in the package are an M gloss shadow line and M rear spoiler, which add to the model’s design theme that represents ‘an expression of pure driving pleasure.’
Interior
Moving into the interior, passengers are welcomed by the Alcantara/Sensatec combination upholstery for the sports seats. As part of the M package, an M leather steering and an M headliner in Anthracite are installed in the driver-centric cabin including a modern control panel on the center console.

The paddle shifters give drivers control over the transmission which can be used for a sportier driving experience. Moreover, an ambient lighting system is made available in the cabin, setting the mood depending on the passengers’ preferences. It can provide either a relaxed or a sporty ambience.

Affixed to the center console is a 10.25-inch infotainment widescreen display with BMW iDrive running Operating System 7.0. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are part of the mix, allowing passengers to stay connected on the go. It pumps out the sounds to the vehicle’s 10-speaker BMW HiFi Loudspeaker system.
In terms of safety, the coupe is equipped with a host of airbags, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Dynamic Stability Control (DCS), run flat indicator, and parking assistant. The interior rearview mirror also comes with an anti-dazzle function to avoid getting blinded by high-beaming vehicles at the rear.

The M Aerodynamic Package also offers M Sport suspension which offers better balance by reducing body roll when cornering, especially at higher speeds. It goes hand-in-hand with the engine in providing a spirited driving experience. BMW Philippines claims that the model can go from zero to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
