The Ranger is one of the best-performing models of Ford Philippines when it comes to unit sales. Last year, Ford PH reported that the Ranger is among the best-selling 4x4 pickup truck in the Philippines.

The 4x4 versions of Ford’s midsize pickup truck registered a total of 5,093 units sold or 52 percent of the total 9,767 Ranger sales in 2020. This translates to a 24 percent market share, which puts the Ranger as one of the popular pickup trucks in the local market.

It’s a no-brainer that Ford PH wanted to continue the Ranger’s sales momentum in the market. As such, the car brand said that the Ranger has indeed maintained its leadership in the 4x4 pickup segment. The 4x4 versions of the Ford Ranger sold a total of 1,273 units in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021. In March 2021 alone, the Ranger yielded 760 units sold. The positive sales run of the said midsize pickup truck is led by the Ranger Raptor, which is said to register a market share of 40 percent in the 4x4 pickup segment.

“We are off to a strong start this year and we thank our dealers for their partnership and our customers for their trust and support. The Ford Ranger remains as one of the popular pickups in the market today and we take pride in having the widest lineup of trucks to complement today’s needs and lifestyles,” said Ford PH marketing and field sales operations director Ryan Loreno.

To further sustain the Ranger’s appeal to the local market, Ford PH introduced the FX4 Max last March. The Ranger FX4 Max is inspired by the off-road capabilities of the Ranger Raptor but with more focus on being a workhorse pickup.

It’s fitted with Fox shocks suspension, and a set of 17-inch alloy wheels with BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. The Ranger FX4 Max also has a 981 kg payload capacity as compared to the Ranger Raptor’s 748 kg. The 2021 Ford Ranger FX4 Max is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford PH shared that the Territory has attracted buyers who are young professionals, and small families who are looking for a feature-packed crossover. The Ford Territory is equipped with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine that makes 141 hp and 225 Nm of torque.
