On September 12, 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will formally brake its cover in the home country. Forward of its official release, some information about the new Prado has been revealed including design, outstanding features and more importantly, the prices.

Accordingly, the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will be available in both 5- and 7-seat layouts. Exterior-wise, the mid-size SUV will feature LED headlights and LED fog lamps in parallel.

Like other Toyota models, the new Land Cruiser Prado will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P including Auto High Beams, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection function along with Lane Departure Alert with/without Steering Assist function. In particular, the new LC Prado will exclusively receive TRD and Modellista accessories.

As regards the powetrain, the facelifted Prado will continue making use of the existing 2.7L petrol and 2.8L diesel engines. The 2.7L petrol offers 161 hp and 246 Nm while the latter can knock out a hihger output of 175 hp and 450 Nm of peak torque. Power will be sent via a standard 6-speed automatic transmission.

Additionally, there is little doubt that a 148 hp/400 Nm 2.4L 2GD-FTV diesel engine from the sibling Fortuner would be also present in the new SUV.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a 7-seater full-size SUV. Toyota Prado price Philippines starts at ₱4,800,000 for the entry-level 4.0 4x4 AT.

With the entry-level gas variant, the SUV gets a 4.0-liter 1GR-FE V6 that makes 271 hp and 381 Nm of torque. As for the diesel variant, a 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV turbodiesel engine is used which is the same engine used by other Toyota models such as the Toyota Fortuner. It is capable of generating 201 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Both variants come with a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift as standard.

In terms of dimensions, this Japanese SUV has a length of 4,840 mm, a width of 1,885 mm, and a height of 1,890 mm. Additionally, it has a ground clearance and wheelbase rated at 215 mm and 2,790 mm, respectively. The Land Cruiser Prado is competing against the likes of the Nissan Patrol and Ford Expedition in the Philippine market.

The global launch of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado happened in 2011. This full-size SUV underwent a facelift in 2017. The current Land Cruiser Prado is the fourth generation of its line. With every passing generation, Toyota provided us with a bigger and more premium Land Cruiser Prado than the outgoing one.

The latest model features a front end with horizontally oriented lights and a wide grille in the middle. It is currently available in the Philippines in five color options: Black 3, Attitude Black Mica, Silver Metallic 2, Gray Metallic, and White Pearl Crystal Shine.
