Nissan has unveiled the Hyper Tourer as its third all-electric concept vehicle to be displayed at the upcoming 2023 Japan Mobility Show (formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show). At the event, it will be joined by the Hyper Urban concept and Hyper Adventure concept – both exuding aggressive exterior styling.

And the Hyper Tourer is no exception. The sharp character lines give not only character to the exterior but also improved aerodynamic performance. It is an important factor, especially for electric vehicles (EVs) shooting for a high electric range.

The wheels on the Hyper Tourer concept come with a kumiko-pattern, which adds to the distinctive look of this all-electric van concept. The two-tone color scheme also reminds us a lot of the Nissan Ariya, an all-electric compact crossover introduced in 2020.

Inside, space is emphasized with versatile seating including front seats that can swivel to the rear. It is made possible by using compact components and high-density all-solid-state batteries that free up room. The overhead console and lighting feature a luxurious finish thanks to traditional Japanese kumiko and koushi patterns.

The all-solid-state batteries should provide an improved range over lithium-ion batteries used in active Nissan EVs such as the Ariya and Leaf. For reference, the Leaf is offered locally with a range of 311 km. Moreover, the Hyper Tourer is kitted out with the e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive (AWD) system that is said to provide a smooth and flat driving feel.
