Suzuki announces five new concept cars that will be manning its booth at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show (formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show). Three of the concepts are developed with electrification in mind, which should be exciting for a brand without a road-going electric vehicle (EV) model.
eVX Concept
The five new car concepts include the eVX, eWX, e Every Concept, Spacia Concept/Spacia Custom Concept, and Swift Concept.
The eVX is an all-electric crossover concept positioned as the brand's first strategic EV model. The concept made its debut at the Auto Expo 2023 in India last January, and is now making its way to Japan for the big auto event. Suzuki claims the EV will offer a range of 500 km.
eWX Concept
The Japanese automaker is still tapping into the wagon segment with the eWX concept. Dimensions-wise, this concept spans 3,395mm in length, 1,475mm in width, and 1,620mm in height. In terms of EV range, the eWX could run for 230 km on a single charge.
The third EV on the list is the e Every Concept, an all-electric mini commercial van that should be used as a workhorse like the Suzuki Carry. With a range of 200 km, the e Every Concept measures 3,395mm long, 1,475mm wide, and 1,890mm tall.
Spacia Concept
As for the non-EV concepts, the Spacia Concept is a minicar reminiscent of the Suzuki APV but with an S-Presso-like face, while the Swift Concept promises an even more fun driving experience with new technologies. The latter is said to be equipped with advanced safety bits like collision mitigating braking, an adaptive high beam system, and a driver monitoring system.
Other cars that will be present at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show include a 3-door Jimny, Hustler, and Solio.
Swift Concept
Suzuki will also ramp up its booth at the auto show with next-gen vehicles for other forms of mobility including two-wheelers and a wheelchair. The automaker will even display a flying car, made in collaboration with SkyDrive Inc., in a 1:5 scale model.
Skydrive
The 2023 Japan Mobility Show will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 26 to November 5, 2023.
