Nissan revealed the second electric vehicle (EV) concept that it will be showcasing at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show (JMS) this coming October 25, 2023.
The Nissan Hyper Adventure Concept
The new Nissan EV concept goes by the name of Hyper Adventure, and it pairs with the Hyper Urban which was unveiled a week ago. Unlike the latter which is geared towards city driving, this newly revealed concept focuses on outdoor activities and off-roading.
Hyper Adventure from the rear
Style-wise the Hyper Adventure looks closer to the Nissan Ariya than its Hyper Urban counterpart. It sports a sharp and angular front end which gets a front spoiler, which the brand says can redirect air to its pillar-less, roof-integrated side windows. Its rear meanwhile, features a U-shaped LED taillight cluster spanning the width of a spoiler-like protrusion.
While being smooth and aerodynamic, the exterior hints at what the vehicle can do in harsh terrain. According to Nissan, its wheels, front bumper, and rear bumper are all equipped with snow gears in the form of grooves. These can bite snow to provide the vehicle with better traction. It likewise features a high-riding stance with plenty of ground clearance.
The rear can be used to lounge around or as a preparation platform before going on adventures
Accessing the interior of the Hyper Adventure is designed to be easy as it doesn’t have a door pillar. A wide-open entryway into the concept crossover is likewise provided once the front doors are opened at the same as its rear gullwing doors. The rear, in turn, gets a deployable step board.
The cockpit of the Hyper Adventure is mostly minimalist but the style details that are present are mostly angular. A wide digital display wraps around the cockpit, while a smaller set of screens sits further upwards near the driver’s line of sight to function as gauge clusters. The driver is also provided with a yoke-type steering wheel.
With front and rear doors open
Over to the second row, the rear seats can be flipped to face backward. Paired with the wide-opening tailgate and the step board, this can be used as a place to relax and view nature. It can likewise function as a spot to prepare before going surfing, taking a hike, or setting up for diving, among others.
Mechanically, not much was revealed by Nissan for this concept car. But the brand did say that it uses its in-house developed e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system. This is the key feature that will enable this ride to go on adventures in challenging terrain.

Furthermore, the Hyper Adventure’s electric powertrain has vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capability. This means that it can power up a user’s gadgets, light up a house, charge other smaller electric vehicles, or even contribute surplus power to a community grid. This Vehicle-to-Grid feature was once highlighted by the Philippine-spec Nissan LEAF back in 2022 when the sedan lit up a 50-foot Christmas tree in Ormoc City.
Its interior has plenty of angular details
Besides the Hyper Adventure and the Hyper Urban, other cars that will be displayed at the brand’s 2023 JMS booth include the Ariya, Skyline NISMO, a Formula E race car, Z Nismo, and the GT-R Nismo.
