The Isuzu D-Max 2020 has been revealed! Here are some details of its exterior, interior, and engine.

After eight long years, Isuzu finally revealed the fourth-generation 2020 Isuzu D-Max a couple of days ago in Bangkok, Thailand and what they came up with looks like a worthy successor to the beloved 3rd generation model.

1. Isuzu D-Max 2020: Exterior changes

First off, let’s talk about its exterior design. Upfront, the new 2020 Isuzu D-Max looks angry. Really angry. The grille's pair of thick bars parallel to each other that have those fang-like protrusions seem to take further the aggressive cat-like look of the front fascia.

While we’ve seen that detail on the front of the current D-Max, the ones on the 2020 D-Max are more prominent. We can even say that the darkened ones on the "V-Cross" variants look like it took inspiration from the 2019 D-Max XTR which is a much tougher off-road truck.

As we’ve seen from the pictures floating around on the internet, there’s also a variant with chromed “fang grilles”. While the blacked-out pieces give the new D-Max a more menacing look, the chromed ones look sleek. Also, note the bi-LED headlights flanking the grille.

The tail-lights are a far cry from those old square-shaped pair on the 3rd gen

At the rear, the pair of tail-lights have become these interesting multi-piece ornaments that looks fancier and more modern than the ones on the old D-Max. It also has a new integrated rear bumper that looks really tough.

Apart from the numerous aesthetic changes done to the 2020 Isuzu D-Max, the company says that the truck now has a longer wheelbase and the body itself is now made to be more compliant with safety standards across different countries. All in all, the new 2020 Isuzu D-Max has shaped up to be a very good looking truck oozing with road presence. But what about the interior?

2. Isuzu D-Max 2020: The interior

Probably one of the most improved parts on this 4th-gen 2020 Isuzu D-Max is the interior. Gone are the boring and very utilitarian design and instead, it now has this very posh and modern interior brimming with personality.

The interior can also come in either black colors and this very beautiful combination of browns and greys depending on the variant. We prefer the Earthy tones of the latter.

The new D-Max also gets a lot of in-terms of tech. It now comes with this new 9-inch infotainment touchscreen that’s navigation ready, is able to handle hands-free calling, has voice recognition, Android Auto, Apple Carplay, as well as a new Automatic dual-zone climate control system.

3. Isuzu D-Max 2020: The engine

Powering the all-new 2020 Isuzu D-Max is a new 3.0-liter turbodiesel which, according to a reliable news source, can make around 188 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Another engine that will be available for the new D-Max is a 1.9-liter turbodiesel. Regarding that smaller engine though, there are no details as of yet.

4. Isuzu D-Max 2020: How about the Philippine release?

As of now, Isuzu Philippines hasn’t said anything yet regarding the new 2020 Isuzu D-Max. There’s no doubt though that we’re also getting the new D-Max here with the V-Cross models as our top of the range variants. Seeing that the Isuzu D-Max LS-A has just been released though, we’ll probably see the new 2020 D-Max arrive on Philippine shores around next year.
